The Deputy Head of the Department of Information and Culture, Adnan Al-Adini, said that the Yemeni people’s resistance to the Houthi militia is an identity conflict, not just a military conflict, and that this racist group represents an existential threat to Yemen, and seeks to obliterate its Arab and Islamic identity and impose a foreign agenda on the Yemeni people.

This came during a poetry evening in the city of Marib, held by the Department of Information and Culture in the Islah Party on Thursday evening, on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the glorious September 26 Revolution, which was enlivened by a group of young poets. Al-Adini said, “Resisting this project is the responsibility of everyone, each in his own arena and field.”

He pointed out that most of the leaders and symbols of the September 26 Revolution were poets who headed that vanguard, noting those national literary names and revolutionary poems that were a resounding cry expressing the people’s pain and aspirations, and encouraging steadfastness, resistance and spreading national awareness.

The Deputy Head of the Islah Media Department reminded us of the weapon of poetry in exposing the claims of Imamate and mobilizing the masses, pointing to its role today in exposing the practices of the Houthi militia and educating public opinion about the danger of its project, in a way that preserves the Yemeni identity and protects the cultural heritage from distortion, raises morale and stimulates resistance, increases the cohesion of the Yemeni people in the face of challenges, records events and immortalizes the sacrifices of the martyrs.

Al-Adini stressed that the September 26 Revolution was the fruit of a long struggle in which poets and writers participated effectively, expressing the national identity, while revolutionary poems were a roadmap for the revolution and a driving force for change.

Then five young poets competed by reciting their national September poems that ignited the enthusiasm of the large audience. The poets; Amer Al-Saeedi, Hisham Pasha, Mazen Al-Talqi, Khalil Noman, and Ahmed Ali Omar, recited many poems that praised the glories of the September 26 Revolution, its symbols, men, and martyrs, who changed the course of history and brought Yemen out of the darkness of racist priesthood into the lights of the republic.

At the end of the evening, which was attended by a large crowd, draped in the national flag, the Deputy Head of the Media and Culture Department in Islah, Adnan Al-Adini, honored the writer Jamal Anam with the department’s shield, in appreciation of his struggle and revolutionary role, and his media and literary efforts.

Al-Adini also honored the poets who enlivened the evening with certificates of appreciation, praising what they presented in the literary arena of revolutionary national production, which supported the battle against the Houthi militia.
