The Yemeni Congregation for Reform Party praised the national roles of the General People's Congress, which celebrates today the 42nd anniversary of its founding, stressing the need to unify efforts and reject differences to end the Houthi coup and restore the state.

This came in a congratulatory message sent by the Secretary-General of the Yemeni Congregation for Reform, Abdul-Wahhab Al-Ansi, to the leadership and members of the General People's Congress on the occasion of the anniversary of the party's founding, which falls today, Saturday, August 24, according to what was published by the party's official website (Islah Net).

Al-Ansi said in his congratulations that the General People's Congress "is one of the levers of political action in the Yemeni arena, and has notable national roles with the political forces in consolidating the foundations of democratic action and political pluralism."

The Secretary-General of the Reform Party expressed his hope that this anniversary would be an opportunity for the parties and national forces to recall the responsibility placed on their shoulders, in unifying efforts, rejecting differences, and moving towards achieving the great goal, which is the restoration of the state, and the ensuing entitlements that require a participatory process that restores political life to its prestige, and makes the interest of the nation and serving the citizen its top priority.

Al-Ansi explained that the Yemeni people have long awaited the return of the state that guarantees security and stability, which is the goal that we, you, and all the national parties and forces are still working to achieve, to restore the state from the hands of the Houthi militias.

He also expressed his confidence that the Congress Party will continue to move forward with the rest of the political parties and components to work in all available ways and means to achieve the broad goals, most notably preserving political pluralism.

The Secretary-General of Islah pointed out that political pluralism today "faces real dangers from armed militias that believe in superstition and reject the principle of peaceful transfer of power, relying on looted weapons when they staged coups and seized legitimate civil and military institutions, ignoring the fact that the Yemeni people, with all their forces and social classes, reject their racism and their rejected ideas in their entirety."

Today, Saturday, the conference members celebrate the 42nd anniversary of the party’s founding, amid hopes of ending the state of fragmentation and division that has plagued the party since 2011 and worsened with the Houthi militia’s coup against the government in 2014 and its repercussions that continue to this day.
