One person was killed and another was injured on Wednesday during clashes between tribal gunmen in Shabwa Governorate, southeast of Yemen.

Local sources said that a beekeeper named Sadiq Jalal Arjoush Al-Subaihi was killed and another was injured during clashes between two families from the Al-Muhaiqni tribe, Bani Ayoub, in the Berber area, in the Upper Markha Directorate.

The sources added that the victim, who is from Lahj Governorate, happened to be present during the outbreak of clashes between the two parties in the area, without mentioning the reasons for the clashes.

Some sources reported that the clashes were the result of tribal revenge, noting that a person belonging to the Al-Muhaqni tribe is accused of murder and was riding with Al-Subaihi on his motorcycle.

She pointed out that an armed man followed them and opened fire at the motorcycle, intending to target his rival, but the targeted person was injured and Al-Subaihi, the owner of the bees, was killed.

The security authorities in the governorate did not issue any clarification about the reasons for the incident, which came days after the killing of the child Nouf Majed, while she was driving her family’s car, which coincided with the outbreak of tribal clashes in the Al-Sadiya area in Sadr Baras in the Al-Saeed Directorate.
