15 killed in Israeli bombing of Damascus

15 people were killed and others were injured in new Israeli shelling targeting the Mazzeh neighborhood and the Qudsaya area in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

Syrian state media said 15 people were killed in an initial count of Israeli attacks on Damascus.

The official Syrian news agency (SANA) said that "according to initial information, the Israeli aggression targeted two residential buildings in the areas of Mezzeh and Qudsaya" and loud explosions were heard in the two neighborhoods.

For its part, the Israeli Army Radio said that the attack targeted assets and leadership headquarters of the Islamic Jihad in Damascus and was not an assassination, and came within the framework of pre-planned attacks.

Before that, Syrian media reported explosions in the city of Homs today, Thursday.

SANA news agency said that the Syrian air defenses confronted a hostile target in the southern airspace of the city of Homs in central Syria.

Yesterday, Wednesday, the agency spoke about an Israeli aggression that targeted the Qusayr area in the Homs countryside in central Syria, and said that the air defenses were "confronting hostile targets" in the skies of the western Homs countryside.

Syrian media also reported that a series of Israeli raids targeted Shinshar, Al-Daf Bridge, Al-Qusayr, and Al-Dabaa checkpoint in the Homs countryside.
