The United Nations Mission in Hodeidah (UNMHA) said on Monday that it had recorded two incidents related to landmines and remnants of war during last October in the governorate located in western Yemen.

The mission explained in its monthly report, which was published on its website, that the two incidents resulted in the death of a woman and the injury of one child.

UNMHA noted that the two incidents occurred in the districts of Bayt Al-Faqih and Hays.

The UN mission confirmed that Yemen is still severely affected by explosive materials, noting that Al Hudaydah Governorate is one of the most affected governorates due to the violent fighting in the past and the ongoing conflict along the front lines in the south of the governorate.

With this toll, the total number of civilian casualties in the governorate has risen to 31 dead and 43 wounded since the beginning of this year, according to the cumulative statistics of the UN mission.
