On Thursday, the Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights expressed its condemnation of the ongoing attacks and violations committed by the terrorist Houthi militia, supported by the Iranian regime, against civilians in Al-Bayda Governorate (central Yemen), the most recent of which were the attacks that occurred yesterday, Wednesday, and caused the death of a citizen and the injury of another.
The ministry said, "Armed elements affiliated with the terrorist Houthi militia opened fire on the citizen, Saif Mardas Al-Sarari, and the citizen, Muqbil Nasser Al-Sarari, from the village of Hama Sarrar, Wald Rabi' Qifa District, while they were passing on a motorcycle at a militia checkpoint, which led to the death of the first and the injury of the first." The other was seriously injured.”
The statement added that the Houthi militia sent military reinforcements to the area, consisting of 6 armed military crews, and surrounded the area and the people. The situation remains tense up to this moment, and information from the Ministry’s monitoring teams indicates that there are more civilian casualties as a result of these ongoing attacks.
He pointed out that the Houthi leader Ali Al-Rasas Al-Bahji, impersonating the Central Security Commander in Al-Bayda Governorate, is the leader and responsible for mobilizing militants to the region for the purpose of committing more crimes against the civilian population.
The Ministry confirmed that the grave violations committed by the terrorist Houthi militia against civilians always confirm that the Houthi militia does not care about any peace process and does not adhere to any agreements, and that it continues to commit crimes of killing and abusing civilians.
The Ministry called on the High Commissioner for Human Rights and all international mechanisms to condemn these violations and crimes and work to prosecute their perpetrators and those responsible, ensure the provision of protection for the civilian population in areas under the control of the militia, and consider the violations committed by the terrorist Houthi militia against civilians as part of actions obstructing peace efforts. It requires that its leadership be subjected to international trials and sanctions.
