The engineering teams of the Yemeni army in the Fifth Military Region called on the authorities and organizations concerned with clearing mines to support them in clearing the liberated districts in Hajjah Governorate of mines that were widely planted by the Houthi militia.

The engineering teams said in a statement published by the media of the Fifth Military District, that they removed a number of mines and remnants of the militia’s war, two days after a child and a woman were injured and a donkey died in a mine explosion in the Al-Jaada isolation in the Midi District, north of Hajjah Governorate.

She added that she received a report that a child and a woman were injured, and she began a field trip for the second day in a row to survey the area of the mine explosion and the surroundings of the neighboring village.

Emphasizing that it is the only party that has been removing and destroying mines in the liberated areas of the city for years, the engineering teams have appealed to the authorities and organizations concerned with clearing mines to support them in clearing lands stacked with thousands of mines in the districts of Medi, Hiran, Haradh, and Abs.

The liberated areas in Hajjah Governorate are one of the most Yemeni areas contaminated with mines, which were planted by the Houthi militia on a large scale throughout the country, and whose incidents have caused the death and injury of thousands of civilians over the past years.
