Professor Faisal Al-Damini after being subjected to a brutal attack

A teacher and mosque preacher was subjected to a brutal and horrific beating and attempted murder on Wednesday in a rural town in Ibb Governorate, central Yemen.

Local sources said that the educator, Faisal Mohsen Al-Damini, was subjected to a brutal and horrific attack while returning from work at the “Dhi Al-Nurain” school in the Al-Ja’ashin area, south of the city of Ibb.

According to sources, the teacher "Al-Damini" was hit on the head with a stone, his hands were broken, and his traditional weapon (the jambiya) was seized.

The sources explained that Al-Damini tried to scream for help, which prompted the perpetrator to break his teeth to prevent him from making noise, before trying to get rid of him by throwing him from a mountain to cover up his crime.

The sources confirmed that the victim, Al-Damini, miraculously survived after he got stuck in a tree on the mountainside, which prevented him from falling.

The residents appealed to the competent authorities to investigate this heinous crime, arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

It is noteworthy that the educator "Faisal Al-Damini" works, in addition to his work as a teacher at the Dhi Al-Noorain School, as an imam and preacher at the mosque in his village, Al-Ja'ashin.

This incident was met with widespread resentment and anger among the residents of the area because of what happened to the teacher “Al-Damini”, due to his high morals and his distinction in his work as a teacher in the school and in the mosque as an imam and preacher.

This comes at a time when crimes are spreading in various areas of the governorate under the control of the Houthi militia, as a result of unemployment, the spread of weapons, and economic deterioration, which pushes young people towards murder, theft, and other crimes.
