Dozens of students were injured on Sunday when a projectile left behind by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia exploded in a school in the capital, Sanaa, which is under its control.

Local sources told Yemen Youth Net that more than 30 first-grade students were injured in a projectile explosion at Al-Qalis Elementary School in Bani Matar District, west of Sana'a.

The sources reported that among the victims were five students who were seriously injured, and more than 25 others who sustained varying injuries and were transferred to the 26th of September Hospital for treatment.

Activists circulated a document issued by the 26th of September Hospital Authority in Sana'a, indicating that 34 students, all of whom are seven years old, were injured.

The details of the explosion were not known, while the Houthi militia attributed its cause to what it claimed was "remnants of aggression," according to its description.

Some sources reported that the militias use some classrooms in the school as mine and ammunition stores during their summer courses to train the children they recruit to use ammunition and mines.
