Special sources revealed that the Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Yahya Al-Shaibi, is insisting on his position as Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to the Federal Republic of Germany, which he has held since his appointment in 2016.

Sources confirmed to the "From the Other Side" program, presented by colleague "Abdullah Dubla" on the "Yemeni Youth" channel, that Dr. Yahya Al-Shaibi, who was appointed Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic since May 2022, still retains his position as our country's ambassador to Germany.

According to the sources, Dr. Al-Shaibi still holds on to the powers and duties of the ambassador, including completing the tasks related to the embassy, most notably signing financial checks to pay the dues of the embassy employees and some other tasks.

The sources stated that Dr. Al-Shaibi refuses to appoint a replacement ambassador for him, or to delegate his deputy, Ambassador "Louay Yahya Al-Eryani", to carry out his duties instead of him, and to devote himself to his work as Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, which is equivalent in job rank to the position of Prime Minister.

The sources attributed the reason for Dr. Al-Shaibi’s reservation to the fact that the latter does not feel secure in his position as Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, especially after the Chairman of the Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, appointed a private secretary for him, “Saleh Al-Maqalih,” who was delegated with all tasks and powers, and Al-Shaibi only had some routine tasks left.

According to the sources, this data is what made Al-Shaibi uneasy about remaining in his position as Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, indicating that this matter is being raised on the table of the Leadership Council and the method of managing the state.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Al-Shaibi had progressed through the government’s ranks, starting as a teaching assistant, then a professor at Sana’a University, then Minister of Education in 1997, then Higher Education and Scientific Research, then Civil Service and Insurance, Governor of Aden, and Minister of State, Secretary of the Capital, Sana’a.
