Taiz Governor stresses the need to preserve the lands and properties of endowments and recover lost documents

Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan stressed today, Tuesday, the necessity of preserving the lands and funds of endowments, stopping the waste and tampering with these properties, and disposing of them in accordance with the law and in a manner that achieves the purposes of the donors.

During his meeting with the Director General of the Endowments and Guidance Office, Dr. Abu Bakr Abdul Razzaq, and the office’s representatives and employees, Shamsan addressed many issues that constitute a waste of endowment properties, granting large lands and areas, and dealing in a manner that violates the law, whether through contracts and illegal actions, raising disputes and problems, and the constant waste in renting these properties for very small amounts.

He stressed that it is necessary to complete a clear and comprehensive electronic database for all endowment properties, lands and tenants, and to search them and work to recover documents related to endowments lost due to the war in cooperation with various parties and to work in an organized manner away from randomness and improvisation with the endowment properties and failure to achieve their purposes and preserve them and their sanctity. It is necessary to hold accountable the perpetrators of violations and any illegal actions that are referred to the judiciary.

The Governor of Taiz also confirmed the local authority's support for the Endowments Office and the work plans aimed at activating aspects of guidance and awareness in confronting the militias and rationalizing religious discourse in a way that serves the needs of the governorate.

For his part, the Director General of the Awqaf Office reviewed the performance reports and efforts made in inventorying and documenting Awqaf lands, attempts to overcome problems, cases and violations in Awqaf lands and their seizure, cases brought to court and the work mechanisms of the office during the past and upcoming period.
