The Socotra Coast Guard announced the loss of a fishing boat carrying two fishermen from the Ras Arsal area, east of the archipelago.
She added that the fishermen (Sami Muhammad Ali and Asa Saber Abdullah) set off on their sea voyage at exactly 4:00 pm on Monday, October 28, 2024, and since then, they have not been found or on the boat.
She pointed out that the type of the missing boat (Mohsen Abu Shandah) is powered by a machine and is blue in colour.
The people of Socotra are constantly exposed to drowning accidents and dangers during their travels and fishing trips, as a result of their movement in old and dilapidated ships, in addition to the turbulence of the sea.
