Two fishermen found in good health three days after going missing in Socotra

Fishermen found two of their colleagues today, Thursday, three days after they went missing at sea, while they were on a fishing trip in the Ras Arsal area, northeast of Socotra Island, located in the Indian Ocean.

The Director General of the Fisheries Authority in Socotra, Ahmed Ali Othman, told Yemen Youth Net that fishermen who were on a fishing trip found two of their colleagues today, Thursday, 20 miles away towards the Dahmari Reserve.

Othman added that the fishermen had gotten lost at sea and were careful to stop their boat so that they would not run out of fuel, until they were found on Thursday evening, in good health.

On Tuesday, the Socotra Coast Guard announced the loss of a blue fishing boat, the “Muhsin Bushanda”, carrying fishermen from the Ras Arsal area, east of the Socotra Archipelago.

She added in a memo that the fishermen set off on their sea voyage at 4:00 pm on Monday, October 28, 2024. They are: Sami Muhammad Ali and Issa Saber Abdullah.
