Israeli Genocide in North and Central Gaza: Death in the Streets and Bodies Devoured by Dogs

On Wednesday evening, the director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City, Mohammed Abu Salmiya, warned of the seriousness of the tragic conditions in northern Gaza, whose health system was destroyed by the Israeli occupation army.

Abu Salmiya told Anadolu Agency that in light of the halt of health services, civil defense, ambulance and emergency services, "people are dying in the streets, dogs are devouring corpses, and no one in the world cares about the scene."

This comes within the framework of the military operation focused on northern Gaza, which is isolated from the rest of the besieged Strip, which was launched on October 5.

Abu Salmiya pointed out that "for the 26th consecutive day, northern Gaza is being subjected to genocide in full view of the entire world, with more than a thousand martyrs and hundreds of wounded so far."

He added that in light of the destruction of all services in the north, including the health system, hundreds of wounded have not yet found their way to treatment.

It is noteworthy that the northern Gaza Strip includes the Gaza Governorate and the North Gaza Governorate, while the center includes the Deir al-Balah Governorate, and the south includes the Khan Yunis Governorate and the Rafah Governorate.

The director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, which is considered the largest hospital in the Gaza Strip and which has been targeted by the Israeli occupation more than once and put out of service, continued, “People in northern Gaza are carrying the martyrs and wounded on their backs or on carts pulled by animals.”

Abu Salmiya pointed out that many of the wounded and sick died in the north due to the lack of health care, and he described the situation there as "tragic in every sense of the word, and the mind is unable to comprehend it." He stressed that "the smell of death and destruction is spreading in all places and alleys."
