Government directives to pay two months' salary to contracted teachers in Aden

Today, Tuesday, the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, Ahmed Lamlas, directed the disbursement of two months’ salary to education contractors in the governorate.

This came during his meeting with the Director of the Education Office in the governorate, Dr. Nawal Jawad, the heads of the departments, and the directors of the education offices in the directorates, to discuss the status of the educational process in the governorate.

According to Saba News Agency, Lamlas confirmed that the local authority in the province will continue its efforts with the government to resolve teachers’ issues and settle their situations in accordance with the system and law.

The meeting discussed the most prominent difficulties and challenges facing the education sector, most notably the shortage of teaching staff, delayed salary disbursement, and weak school infrastructure.

The meeting also discussed possible mechanisms to correct the course of the educational process in the interim capital, Aden, and improve its reality for the better.
