Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that Israel's air strike on Iran last month targeted a component of its nuclear program and negatively affected its defense and missile production capabilities.

"This is no secret. There is a specific component of their nuclear program that was hit in this attack," Netanyahu said in a speech to the Knesset.

The Israeli Prime Minister did not specify that component, but he added that Iran's path to manufacturing a nuclear weapon was not closed with that.

In his speech, Netanyahu provided brief details of what Israel targeted, saying that Israel's strike on Iran in April was limited, destroying one of four Russian S-300 surface-to-air missile defense batteries around the capital, Tehran.

As for last month's strike, Netanyahu said that Israel destroyed the three remaining batteries of that type, and caused severe damage to Iran's ability to produce ballistic missiles, and its ability to produce solid fuel used in the long-range type of these missiles.

On October 26, Israeli fighter jets carried out waves of attacks on Iranian military targets, a few weeks after Iran launched a barrage of about 200 ballistic missiles toward Israel.

This targeting came after a previous exchange of direct attacks that took place in April.
