Borussia Dortmund crush Celtic with 7 goals, Leverkusen shines and collects points against Milan

Borussia Dortmund of Germany crushed its guest Celtic of Scotland with seven clean goals, while Bayer Leverkusen continued its brilliance with a victory over its guest Milan of Italy, in the Champions League.

Borussia Dortmund, the German runner-up, continued its strong start with its biggest crushing victory in its history in the Champions League, beating its guest Celtic of Scotland 7-1, on Tuesday, in the second round of the Champions League, the league stage.

The goals were scored by Emre Can (7 from a penalty kick), Karim Adeyemi (11, 29 and 42), Guinean Serhou Guirassy (40 from a penalty kick and 66) and Felix Nmecha (79), while Celtic's goal was scored by Japanese Daizen Maeda (9), to add to Dortmund's opening away win over Belgian Club Brugge 3-0.

This is Dortmund's biggest win in the competition, on goal difference compared to their 6-0 win over Legia Warsaw of Poland on September 14, 2016.

Karim Adeyemi, in turn, scored his first hat-trick for Borussia Dortmund in all competitions and the first Borussia Dortmund player to score a first-half hat-trick in a major European match since Marcio Amoruso in the 2002 UEFA Cup semi-final against Milan.

He is also the second German player to score a first-half hat-trick in a Champions League match, after Mario Gómez for Bayern Munich in November 2011 against Napoli.

Leverkusen take points against Milan

Bayer Leverkusen defeated its guest, the Italian giant Milan, 1-0, in the second round of the Champions League, the league stage.

The only goal for coach Xabi Alonso's team was scored by Nigerian Victor Boniface in the 51st minute, to raise the German league title holder's score to 6 points after cutting the ribbon of its matches in the most prestigious cup with a clear away win over Eindhoven 4-0.

This is the first match between Bayer Leverkusen and Milan in European competitions.

In another match, Dutch club PSV Eindhoven tied with its guest Sporting Lisbon 1-1.

Jerdy Schauten put the home side ahead in the 15th minute, before Daniel Bragança equalised for the visitors in the 84th minute.
