Inter snatches valuable win from Arsenal, Atletico Madrid defeats Saint-Germain, Barcelona wins by five goals

Inter Milan beat Arsenal 1-0, while Atletico Madrid won the summit against Paris Saint-Germain 2-1, and Barcelona continued its strong performances with a sweeping 5-0 win in the fourth round of the Champions League.

Italian club Inter snatched a valuable victory from its guest, English club Arsenal, with a goal to nothing on Wednesday evening.

Turkish Hakan Calhanoglu scored the only goal from a penalty kick in the third minute of stoppage time in the first half, raising Inter's tally to 10 points from 3 wins and one draw, while Arsenal's tally froze at 7 points after suffering its first loss.

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard was on the bench for the first time since early September due to an ankle injury he sustained playing for his country before coming on in the final seconds of the match.

Arsenal were also without influential midfielder Declan Rice due to a foot injury sustained in their 1-0 defeat to Newcastle in the league last weekend.

Atletico Madrid wins the summit

Atletico Madrid of Spain won the summit match against its host, Paris Saint-Germain of France, in its favor (2-1).

Warren Zaire-Emery opened the scoring for the French team in the (14) minute.

Argentine Nahuel Molina equalized for the Spanish team in minute (18).

Another Argentine, Angel Correa, scored the winning goal for Rojiblancos in the dying minutes (90+3).

This is Atletico Madrid's second win in the league this season, compared to two losses, bringing its total to 6 points.

On the other hand, Paris Saint-Germain suffered its second loss, against one win and a draw on one occasion, to freeze its score at 4 points.

Barcelona continues its strong performances

Barcelona continued their strong performances and achieved their seventh consecutive victory in various competitions after crushing their host, Red Star Belgrade, Serbia, 5-2.

Barcelona raised its score to nine points from three wins and one loss, to occupy sixth place, while Red Star suffered its fourth loss without tasting the flavor of victory or a draw, to occupy 35th place, the penultimate.

The goals of the Catalan team were scored by Inigo Martinez (13), Polish Robert Lewandowski (43 and 53), Brazilian Rafinha (55) and substitute Fermin Lopez (76), while Congolese Silas Katumba Mvumba (23) and Angolan Melson (84) scored the goals of Red Star.


Aston Villa suffer first defeat

Belgian club Club Brugge inflicted the first defeat on English club Aston Villa, beating them 1-0.

Club Brugge captain Hans Vanaken scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 52nd minute after a strange handball by defender Tyrone Mings.

The loss is the first for Aston Villa in the continental championship after three consecutive victories, including a 1-0 victory over Bayern Munich.

The loss also comes after Villa's 1-4 defeat to Tottenham in the English Premier League last weekend, and a few days before that, their exit from the League Cup after losing to Crystal Palace.

In a second match, Ukrainian Shakhtar Donetsk beat Swiss Young Boys 2-1.

Oleksandr Zubkov (31) and Georgi Sudakov (41) scored for the winner after the loser had taken the lead through a goal by Kastriot Emery (27).
