Two soldiers killed and another injured from the Transitional Forces in an armed attack in Abyan

Two soldiers were killed and another was injured last night in two separate attacks by elements believed to belong to Al-Qaeda on positions of the Southern Transitional Council forces in Abyan Governorate, southern Yemen.

Local sources confirmed to "Yemeni Youth Net" that armed elements carried out a sniper operation against a soldier in the Al-Kassara area, Wadi Omran, in Mudiyah District.

She added that the elements also carried out an ambush targeting the ambulance teams that transported the wounded man, with an explosive device planted in the "Amsara - Al-Baghira" area in the same directorate.

The sources explained that the two attacks resulted in the killing of two soldiers, namely: "Mohammed Saif Rashid and Ali Mohammed Naji", and the wounding of another soldier named "Mohammed Ali Thabet", all of whom were members of the Third Support and Reinforcement Brigade.

This comes a day after a soldier named "Bashar Aref" was killed in a sniper operation targeting him at the crusher site in Wadi Omran in the same directorate.
