Yemenia Airlines announced today, Sunday, that it has scheduled an additional flight, next Tuesday evening, to transport passengers of the suspended Belqis Airlines stranded at Cairo International Airport.

The Yemeni News Agency (Saba) quoted the company's commercial director, Mohsen Haidara, as saying that the company scheduled an additional flight on the (Aden-Cairo-Aden) line, to accommodate the pressure and transport the stranded passengers of Belqis Airlines in Cairo.

Haidera explained that the flight, which was scheduled for Tuesday, September 17, will take off from Cairo at 8:30 pm Cairo time, noting that it comes in implementation of the directives of the Ministry of Transport and the Board of Directors of Yemenia Airlines.

Haidera called on all stranded passengers to visit the company's offices in Cairo to arrange reservations and facilitate their return to the homeland.

Last Tuesday, the Minister of Transport, Abdul Salam Hamid, directed the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yemenia Airlines, to transport the passengers of the Belqis Company stranded in Cairo and Jeddah at their own expense , in violation of previous directives from the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Presidential Council to allow the Belqis Company to continue its work until the end of the year.

For about two weeks, hundreds of Yemeni travelers, most of whom are sick, have been stuck in Cairo and Jeddah airports in difficult circumstances, due to the Ministry of Transport and the Aviation Authority suspending the work permit of Balqis Company at the end of last August, under the pretext that the company did not meet the work conditions (technical and administrative), which are charges that the company and its owner deny.
