Local sources in Al-Khokha District, Al-Hodeidah Governorate, said that 79 Yemeni fishermen arrived on Sunday to the Al-Khokha coast, after being detained for several months by the Eritrean Navy on the island of "Tarmah" in the city of Assab, and their boats and belongings were confiscated.

According to what was published by Al-Khokha Media Center, quoting the released fishermen, they were subjected to harsh treatment that included physical and psychological torture, and were forced to perform hard labor, in addition to daily abuse.

The representative of the Fishermen's Association, Fouad Dobleh, condemned these repeated violations by the Eritrean forces.

He called on the concerned authorities to take measures to protect fishermen and ensure that they are not subjected to arbitrary detention or violations by Eritrean forces.
