Marib Dam
Civil defense teams in Marib Governorate recovered, on Saturday, the bodies of two children who drowned yesterday, Friday, one of whom was Ethiopian.
The Security Media Center affiliated with the Ministry of Interior stated, quoting sources in the Civil Defense in Marib, that "the Civil Defense teams retrieved the body of the child "Ibrahim Abdo Ahmed Mabkhout Al-Shaibi", aged 15, from the sons of Hodeidah and a resident of Al-Mail, retrieved it from the hole of the dam's water outlet in the new university area."
Civil Defense attributed the cause of the accident to "family neglect and the victim's inability to swim."
The center added, "Civil Defense teams also recovered the body of Shaaban Abdul Rahman Youssef Sabd, 16 years old, Ethiopian national, from the middle of the Marib Dam diversion in the Suqman hole, where he died due to his inability to swim."
The Civil Defense in Ma'rib Governorate stated that its teams recovered the bodies of the two drowned children and deposited them in the hospital's morgue, pending completion of investigation procedures into the two incidents, to later hand them over to their families for burial procedures.
The Civil Defense called on citizens not to allow their children to go to areas where dam water and rainwater flow, or to be around them alone, and not to allow them to go down into the water if they do not know how to swim, to preserve their safety from the dangers of water and avoid drowning accidents.
