Yemeni army forces were able to repel an attack launched by the Houthi militia, classified as a terrorist, on Saturday, north of Lahj Governorate, southwest of the country.

The Yemeni army website "September Net" quoted military sources as saying that the combat units stationed in the "Ahama" sector on the "Al-Hawasheb" axis, west of Al-Masemir District, repelled a Houthi attack.

According to the website, the Houthi militia suffered human and material losses resulting from the attack, and was forced to retreat.

It is noteworthy that this Houthi attack came in conjunction with the targeting of villages and residential areas by Houthi artillery with mortar shells, according to the army's website.

The Houthi militia has escalated its attacks on army positions in recent days on a number of fronts, particularly in the governorates of Lahj and Ma'rib.

The Houthi militia failed to achieve any breakthrough in the army's positions, as it seeks to exploit the UN truce signed between the army and the Houthi militia since the beginning of April 2022 to achieve any progress, to no avail.
