Five people, three of them from the same family, died after being struck by lightning in Raymah Governorate (northern Yemen).
Local sources said that the house of citizen Hadi Ali Al-Hajj, located in the Al-Areen neighborhood, in the village of Al-Harf, Al-Jaboub district, in the Kasma district, was struck by lightning on Friday, which resulted in the death of four people.
The sources explained that the incident resulted in the death of the citizen "Al-Hajj's" wife, his 11-year-old son, and his 7-year-old daughter, in addition to a woman from his neighbors who was in his house at the time of the incident.
The same directorate witnessed a similar incident that claimed the life of a woman in the Bani Musab district, according to sources.
During the current rainy season, which has been ongoing since last March, hundreds of Yemenis have been killed and injured in lightning and thunderstorm incidents, most of which occurred in the northern and northwestern mountainous provinces.
