The report explained that the rapid response mechanism led by it, in cooperation with its partners including the World Food Programme and UNICEF, "has played, since the beginning of the year, a pivotal role in addressing the urgent humanitarian needs resulting from these crises; and providing immediate life-saving assistance to affected people."
He added that during the reporting period, the mechanism reached 62,952 families (440,664 people) with emergency relief, representing 87.3% of the total affected families registered for assistance in 20 affected governorates; including 22% of female-headed households, 21% of the elderly, and 10% of persons with disabilities.
The report indicated that the aid distributed to affected families varied between multi-purpose cash assistance, one-time general food aid, and emergency shelter.
