On Monday, the security services in Al-Mahra Governorate referred ten people accused of drug trade and promotion to the criminal prosecution in Hadhramaut Governorate, east of the country.
The Al-Mahra Governorate Media Center stated that the Narcotics Control Department in Al-Mahra Governorate referred ten defendants accused of crimes of trafficking, promoting and bringing drugs, to the specialized criminal prosecution in Hadhramaut Governorate after completing the procedures for gathering evidence.
The Director of the Narcotics Control Department in Al-Mahra Governorate, Captain Arif Saeed Al-Awbthani, explained that five of the accused are of foreign nationalities.
He stressed that the administration, with the cooperation of all security agencies and citizens, will continue to fight drug trafficking and smuggling in all its forms until it is eradicated.
It is noteworthy that this is the second time within six months, as Al-Mahra Police previously referred ten accused of drug trafficking crimes to the Criminal Court in Hadramaut.
From time to time, the security services in Mahra announce the arrest of a number of people accused of selling and trading drugs in the governorate.
