Ismail Haniyeh's body arrives in Doha in preparation for his burial tomorrow, and Hamas calls for demonstrations of anger

The body of the head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, arrived - today, Thursday - in Doha from Iran, in preparation for his funeral to his final resting place tomorrow, Friday, in the presence of a popular and official presence, while the movement called for demonstrations of anger.

The funeral prayer will be held for the deceased after Friday prayers at the Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque in the Qatari capital, and then he will be buried in the cemetery of the founding imam in Lusail.

The Hamas movement said in a statement: “We invite you to perform absentee prayers for the soul of the martyr leader Ismail Haniyeh, tomorrow after Friday prayers, in all mosques, in fulfillment of his message and the blood of the martyrs.”

She added: "Let the marches of anger begin from every mosque, denouncing the cowardly crime of assassination, and condemning the continuation of the war of genocide against our people in the Gaza Strip, and in defense of our land, our sanctity, and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque."

On Wednesday morning, Hamas and Iran announced the assassination of Haniyeh in an Israeli air strike that targeted his residence in Tehran, the day after his participation in the inauguration ceremony of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Earlier today, the Iranian capital witnessed a funeral ceremony for the head of the Hamas political bureau, with official and popular attendance, the day after his assassination at his residence.

Iranian Leader Ali Khamenei led the funeral prayer over Haniyeh’s body, and a crowd of mourners carrying pictures of the deceased and Palestinian flags gathered at Tehran University.

Large crowds of Iranians participated in Haniyeh's funeral in Tehran. A truck carrying the coffin of Haniyeh and his companion, Wassim Abu Shaaban, drove towards Azadi Square in the capital, Tehran, and was accompanied by mourners who praised the resistance and raised banners demanding revenge for the assassination of Haniyeh while he was a guest in Iran. They also burned Israeli flags.
