Al-Sisi: What Egypt is currently experiencing is similar to the conditions after the June 1967 setback

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said, "What Egypt is experiencing during this period are the same circumstances it witnessed following the setback of June 5, 1967. At that time, all the experts were saying that it would not win because of the Suez Canal and the Bar Lev Line, but the Egyptians succeeded in the challenge."
Sisi added in a huge celebration held by state agencies at the New Administrative Capital Stadium on Saturday night that “the Egyptians paid with their blood the price of the victory of October 6, 1973, and also for peace (with Israel), and the first to pay the price was the late President Anwar Sadat, who paid with his life for peace, and it was an idea that was ahead of its time and time.”
Al-Sisi pointed out that "the glorious October victory confirmed that the will of the people is capable of achieving victory, no matter the challenges, and I say to all Egyptians that you must rejoice, because the story of October is an inspiring and never-ending one, and the victory was not simple, and behind it was an entire people who rejected defeat and challenged themselves and their circumstances."
Stressing that his country is now facing "difficult challenges, and we have a desire and determination to succeed, thanks to God Almighty, and with work, determination and follow-up, we will overcome every challenge before us, and together we will reach everything we wish for," he said.
Sisi attended the celebration, which was held under the auspices of the so-called "Union of Arab Tribes", headed by Ibrahim Al-Arjani, a businessman close to the regime, and was enlivened by a group of singers and artists, such as Mohamed Mounir, Angham, Tamer Ashour, Wegz, and Reem Mostafa.
Fireworks were launched in large numbers in the sky of the administrative capital, as the stadium was filled with members of the Future of the Nation Party, which is affiliated with the security services, who came from several governorates outside Cairo via buses designated for this purpose.
Egypt has been suffering from a stifling economic crisis since the government signed an agreement with the International Monetary Fund to borrow $12 billion in 2016, followed by the liberalization of the currency exchange rate, and the decline of the pound against the dollar from about 15.70 pounds to 48.80 pounds in banks, amid a state of popular anger due to inflation and high prices, and the doubling of the prices of services and basic goods by rates exceeding 1000 percent over ten years, the latest of which was fuel, which increased for the third time this year by 17.3%.
