Egyptian Mohamed Salah led Liverpool to a 2-0 win over Bologna, while Benfica crushed Portuguese Atletico Madrid 4-0 on Wednesday evening in the Champions League.
Liverpool achieved its second consecutive victory in the new edition of the UEFA Champions League, beating its guest, Bologna, Italy, 2-0, in the league stage.
Salah became the first Liverpool player to score at Anfield in 5 consecutive Champions League matches, after the "Pharaoh" scored in 4 matches at his team's home ground during his previous season 2022-2023, noting that Liverpool participated in the European League "Europa League" last season.
Liverpool have scored at least two goals in their last 10 home matches in European competition.

Liverpool, the league leaders, started their campaign in the new version of the main continental competition with a valuable 3-1 victory over AC Milan at home, while Bologna fell into a goalless draw against Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine.
The new Reds coach, Dutchman Arne Slot, missed the efforts of Harvey Elliott and the only new arrival this summer, Italian Federico Chiesa, due to injury, while Portuguese Diogo Jota sat on the bench before being brought on instead of Uruguayan Darwin Nunez (61).
In front of their fans, the home team opened the scoring after an exchange of the ball between the Argentine Mac Allister and the Hungarian Dominik Szoboszlai, and from him to the striker Salah, who passed it in an ideal cross inside the area, which the Qatar 2022 World Cup champion received and deposited from close range with his left foot into the net (10), in his first goal in various competitions this season.
Liverpool ended their guest's hopes of a comeback with a goal from Salah, who started from the right side and penetrated the middle of the area to shoot a powerful ball with his left foot to the right of Polish goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski (75).
Benfica sweeps Atletico Madrid
Portuguese club Benfica defeated its guest, Spanish club Atletico Madrid, 4-0 in the second round of the league stage of the European Champions League.
The goals were scored by Kerem Akturkoglu (13), Angel Di Maria (52 from a penalty kick), Alexandre Bah (75) and Orkun Kokcu (84 from a penalty kick).

As for Atletico Madrid, its score froze at 3 points after a difficult victory over Leipzig with a score of 2/1 in the first round, and it will play against Lille of France in Madrid in the third round.
Dinamo Zagreb draw with Monaco
In another match, Monaco came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with hosts Dinamo Zagreb on a rainy night after Denis Zakaria scored for the visitors from the penalty spot in the 90th minute.
Petar Sutic gave Dinamo the lead in first-half stoppage time with a superb chip over the keeper, and the home side doubled their lead in the 66th minute when Martin Baturina fired home from outside the box.

After suffering a crushing 9-2 defeat by Bayern Munich in their opening match, the Croatian side looked set to stage a comeback before Mohammed Salisu headed home from a corner eight minutes from time and Monaco were awarded a penalty.
Zakaria succeeded in scoring from the penalty mark, raising Monaco's score to four points after beating Barcelona in its opening match of the tournament, thus maintaining the French team's record free of defeats this season.
