Yemen International Team Participating in the Arab Mental Math Championship in Cairo
Today, Sunday (August 18), the Arab Championship for the "Mental Mathematics" competition, whose qualifiers are being held in the Egyptian capital (Cairo), was launched, organized by the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, with the participation of ten countries: Yemen, Egypt, Iraq, Sudan, Syria, Algeria, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, and Jordan.
International competitors participate in this championship in the following competitions: My Memory and Championships - Vedic Math - Mental Arithmetic - Rubik's Cube.
Today, Sunday, the Yemeni international champion "Shahd Muhammad Abbas Mustafa" from the Naama Rasam School in Taiz, and the Yemeni international champion "Louay Ahmed Hassan" from the 26th of September School in Taiz, participated in the first competitions of the Yemeni team in the "My Memory" and "Championships" competitions, in which they competed with four other countries: Syria, Sudan, Iraq, and Egypt.
According to our sources, the announcement of the results in this track has been postponed until next Saturday (August 24), after the completion of the “Mental Arithmetic” competition. In the meantime, the team is preparing for its next competition, scheduled for the day after tomorrow, Tuesday (August 20), which will be in the “Vida” competition track.
The Yemeni international team participating in the championship consists of: International champion Maram Zakaria Mufleh - Ne'mah Rassam School (Taiz) - International champion Khawla Mohammed Abdullah - Aisha School (Taiz) - International champion Shahd Mohammed Abbas Mustafa - Ne'mah Rassam School (Taiz) - International champion Luay Ali Ahmed Hassan - 26 September School (Taiz)
The team is competing under the supervision of international coach Hanan Al-Barkani, and the general coordinator of the delegation, Mr. Omar Muhammad Muhammad Abdullah.
It is noteworthy that the "Nima Rassam" School in Taiz is the one that organizes and supports the "mental arithmetic" competitions at the governorate level. The team that qualified and participated in the Arab Championship is supported by the Governor of Taiz Governorate, Nabil Shamsan, and sponsored by the Director of the Education Office in the Governorate, Abdul-Wasea Shaddad, and supervised by the Office's Activities Department.
The Yemeni team started its training yesterday, Saturday, at the Yemeni Cultural Center in Cairo, with the generous hosting of the center’s management and arrangement by the administrative body of the Yemeni community in Egypt.
