Yemeni Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Daari, stressed the Houthi militia's unwillingness to establish peace in the country, stressing the need to support the Yemeni government and the national army to protect freedom of international navigation.

This came in a statement he made during two meetings held in Riyadh (Saturday) with the Chargé d'Affairs of the Chinese Embassy to Yemen, Zhao Cheng, and the Japanese Military Attaché to Yemen, Soichiro Shimamura, according to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba).

The agency reported that the two meetings discussed the latest developments in Yemen, in light of the continued targeting of commercial ships and international shipping routes by the Houthi terrorist militias in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, and the harm this poses to the global economy and a threat to international peace and security.

Lieutenant General Al-Daari stressed that "the stability of the region and ensuring freedom of maritime navigation come with the support of the government and the armed forces to impose their control over the entire national territory."

He explained that peace is not in the dictionary of the terrorist Houthi militia, which is accustomed to breaking covenants and evading agreements.
