Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz, discussed with US officials the latest developments in the situation in Yemen.
The Yemeni embassy in Washington said on its account on the X platform that Lieutenant General Bin Saghir, who is visiting Washington on an official visit, participated in a special discussion session at the US State Department with the US envoy to Yemen, Lenderking, and representatives from the White House and the Department of Defense.
For its part, the US State Department said that the US envoy to Yemen, Lenderking, met with Lieutenant General Bin Aziz and the Yemeni ambassador to Washington, Mohammed Al-Hadrami, to discuss the ongoing suffering of Yemenis at the hands of the Houthis and to confront attacks in the Red Sea.
In a statement by its office in the Near East on the X platform account, it affirmed the United States' commitment to supporting a strong national government and a Yemeni-led peace process.
