A human rights report revealed the documentation of the death of 20 abductees under torture in the prisons of the terrorist Houthi militia in Sana'a, during the years 2022-2023 AD.

This came in a report issued by the Human Rights Office in the capital, Sana'a, entitled (Sana'a is Angry), and published by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba).

The report stated that it documented 2,500 violations committed by the Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime against the people of the capital, Sana'a, during the past two years, 2022 and 2023, distributed between (killing and injuries, assaults by torture and kidnapping, looting of public and private property, recruitment of children, violations against childhood and women, forced displacement, sectarianism and job abuse, and attacks on judicial institutions).

The report documented the killing of 38 civilians, including 20 cases of killing under torture and 18 cases of killing by direct gunfire, while injuries and physical assaults amounted to 261 cases, and 284 cases of kidnapping and enforced disappearance, and 251 cases of torture and cruel and degrading treatment were documented.

The report indicated that the Houthi militias prevented citizens from celebrating the National Day of the September 26 Revolution last year, 2023, who took to the streets spontaneously, raising the republican flag, and assaulted them, tore up and insulted the republican flag, and kidnapped dozens of them.

The report pointed to the growing popular anger in the capital, Sana'a, against the Houthi militia, and its policy of starvation, oppression and systematic impoverishment of citizens, its continued looting of employees' salaries, militarization of life, restrictions on freedom of opinion and expression and public freedoms, and targeting of the republican system.

The Director of the Human Rights Office in the Capital Secretariat, Fahmi Al-Zubairi, confirmed in a statement to the agency that the Houthi militias’ continued commission of violations and their ingenuity against the Yemenis is evidence of their inability to sectarianize society and subject the Yemeni people to their project, and their rejection by the Yemeni people and their rejection of their sectarian and racial project based on the theory of racial discrimination, which contradicts the republican system and the gains of the immortal September 26 Revolution.
