Grundberg: The immediate and unconditional release of arbitrarily detained civilians is the only acceptable option

He particularly reiterated his demand for the immediate and unconditional release of UN staff, aid workers and civil society workers who were arbitrarily detained in Sanaa and remain detained without the ability to communicate with the outside world.

He added: "The United Nations remains committed to this important work to reunite Yemeni families with their relatives detained in connection with the conflict."

He continued: "As we continue this mission, we must also denounce the arbitrary detention of all civilians and express our regret for the suffering of their families and loved ones. Their immediate and unconditional release is the only acceptable option."

Yesterday, Saturday, a member of the government delegation, Majed Fadael, accused the Houthi militias of thwarting any exchange in this round and said that the Houthis "do not give any weight to the prisoners and their families."
