The Iran-backed Houthi group claimed responsibility for a missile attack on Israel on Sunday, claiming it targeted a military target.

The group's military spokesman, Yahya Saree, said in a statement that his group's forces targeted a military target of the Israeli enemy in the Jaffa (Tel Aviv) area in occupied Palestine.

He added that the operation was carried out with a new "hypersonic" ballistic missile that succeeded in reaching its target, and the enemy's defenses failed to intercept and confront it, and it covered a distance of 2,040 km within 11 and a half minutes.

He pointed out that the operation comes within the framework of supporting the Palestinian people.

This morning, the Israeli occupation army announced that a missile launched from Yemen fell in an open area east of Tel Aviv, in central Israel (occupied Palestine).

The spokesman for the occupation army said in a statement that a surface-to-surface missile launched from Yemen fell in an open area in the center of the country, without causing any injuries.

The spokesman for the occupation army indicated that the sounds of explosions heard in several areas were the result of interceptor missiles.

Circulating clips showed smoke rising and fires raging at the site of the missile's fall.
