Zinjibar, the capital of Abyan Governorate (southern Yemen), witnessed an angry mass march this Monday morning, coinciding with the continuation of civil disobedience by shops in protest against the deterioration of the currency and the rise in prices.

Local sources told "Yemeni Youth Net" that hundreds of people from the city of Zinjibar (men and women) carried out a mass march today, Monday, denouncing the collapse of the national currency and the rise in prices, which toured a number of the city's streets.

The protesters chanted slogans denouncing the deterioration of living conditions due to the collapse of the currency, including (Shame, shame...the people are dying from the prices).

The protesters stressed the continuation of their protest activities to pressure the Presidential Council and the legitimate government to work on solving the problem of the currency collapse and ending the suffering of citizens, which is worsening every day.

Since last Saturday, the city of Zinjibar, the capital of Abyan Governorate, has witnessed civil disobedience and the closure of shops, in condemnation of the collapse of the value of the local currency, which is witnessing a historic collapse.

The Yemeni riyal continued its record collapse this Monday morning, recording 2049 for selling one dollar, and 2036 for buying, at the opening of unofficial morning transactions in Aden, while the Saudi riyal traded between 535 and 533.
