IOM: 22 Yemeni families displaced during the past week

The International Organization for Migration announced the displacement of 22 families during the past week from several Yemeni governorates.

The organization said in its weekly report issued yesterday, Sunday, that its displacement matrix monitored the displacement of 22 families representing (132 individuals) during the period from October 6 to 12.

She stated that the displacement cases originated from Hodeidah, Al Bayda and Taiz and settled in Marib with 20 families and Hodeidah with two families.

She explained that economic motives related to the conflict were behind the displacement of about 77% of the displaced (17 families), while security and safety motives were behind the displacement of 23% of the displaced (5 families).

She pointed out that the total number of displaced persons throughout the country rose in the period from January 1 to October 12, 2024, to 2,856 families (17,136 individuals).
