Al-Qassam Brigades announces the detonation of 10 explosive devices in occupation vehicles in Tulkarm and Jenin

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced on Thursday that its fighters were engaged in armed clashes with Israeli forces that had penetrated the Jenin camp and the city of Tulkarm in the northern West Bank, and had detonated more than 10 landmines in their vehicles.

Al-Qassam said in a statement that its fighters are clashing "with the occupation forces that have penetrated Jenin and Tulkarm (in the West Bank) with bullets and explosive devices."

She added that its fighters "detonated more than 10 landmines in the invading occupation vehicles."

On Wednesday morning, the Israeli army began a large-scale and ongoing military operation in the governorates of Tulkarm, Jenin and Tubas in the northern West Bank, the largest since 2002, which led to the killing of 16 Palestinians and the injury of dozens.

Faisal Salama, Deputy Governor of Tulkarm and Coordinator of the Palestinian Forces and Activities Committee in the city, said, “The Israeli army is imposing a comprehensive siege on the camp, preventing the entry of any necessities for the residents, and obstructing the work of ambulances and civil defense vehicles (civil protection).”

He pointed out that for the second day in a row, residents are living under a curfew, and there are power, water and communications outages.

He continued: "We receive appeals about the presence of injured and sick people, but the Israeli forces prevent the (ambulance) crews from intervening."

Regarding the situation in the camp, Salama says: “The Israeli army storms Palestinian homes by blowing up doors and walls, and carries out arrests and field investigations amidst abuse, beatings and humiliation.”

He pointed out that dozens of residents were arrested, describing the situation as "dangerous."

The sounds of gunfire and explosions can be heard in the camp from time to time, according to eyewitnesses to Anadolu Agency.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the number of martyrs reached 15, and dozens were injured in the ongoing operation in Tulkarm and Jenin, which is the "largest" since Operation Defensive Shield in 2002.

In conjunction with its war on Gaza since October 7, the Israeli army escalated its attacks in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, killing 670 Palestinians, including 150 children, injuring more than 5,400, and arresting more than 10,000.

With full American support, Israel waged a war on Gaza that resulted in more than 134,000 Palestinian deaths and injuries, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of dozens, in one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world.
