The situation before October 7, 2023, was extremely tense between the Gaza Strip and the Zionist entity, especially in terms of tightening the siege.
The situation in Al-Aqsa Mosque was more critical, with the increasing violations by the so-called Temple Guards and their ilk, and within the framework of the growing support for them by the “religious” followers of Smotrich and Ben-Gvir, the two influential ministers in Netanyahu’s government.
The threats reached the point of threatening to build a synagogue in its courtyard, divide the prayer space in it, and practice whatever Talmudic rituals they wanted. Knowing that all of this was a blatant violation of the internationally established “status quo” (the existing reality) by international law since 1854, throughout the era of British colonialism, and up until the year 2000, when the violations began, and the reference is still there.
The situation in the West Bank was on the verge of a comprehensive sweep by the Zionist army, against the Jenin camp, Nablus, Tulkarm, and Nour Shams camp, reaching Aqabat Jaber. This made the move to prevent the expected massacres urgent for all the Palestinian people, especially by the resistance in the Gaza Strip.
In a word, the confrontation against the occupation before the outbreak of Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa on October 7, 2023, was expected by the occupation army, which had entered the phase of eliminating the resistance in the West Bank, and imposed the division of prayer in Al-Aqsa Mosque by blatant force, and in defiance of everyone.
Hence, Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa came about in terms of timing at its decisive moment, after a long period of preparation and planning, as part of the strategy and tactics of resistance against the occupation.
It is resistance, reinforced by international law, and the legitimacy of the right of peoples to practice all forms of struggle, especially armed resistance, when they are subjected to invasion and occupation. So how is it if it is, as in Palestine, colonial, settler, uprooting, and substitutionary, and with a racist ideology that considers the Palestinian people to be of the animal species, as some Zionist officials declared following Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa.
Hence, the first principle in evaluating Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa is to consider it a legitimate resistance operation according to international law and the customs of peoples, and according to religion, nationalism, Arabism, Islam, and humanity. No one has the right to challenge its legitimacy, timing, or justice.
Second: When he examines the details that characterized Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa in terms of the precision of preparation and planning, and securing the element of surprise, with all that it requires in terms of bypassing the enormous security measures, and imposing negligence on the enemy, to the extent that he did not believe that such an operation could take place, even if he received indicators that required him to be alerted to it, so killing his security vigilance, killing his assessment of the situation, and causing him to fall into a sea of negligence... all these details require that Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa be evaluated with the highest levels of intelligence, knowledge, cunning, and skill in leadership, and in planning and preparation.
This is what the Palestinian people in particular deserve, the highest appreciation and confidence in the leadership, cadres and resistance fighters, and in the people who embrace it, as it has proven in its steadfastness, faith and sacrifices, while being exposed to the most dangerous crime of genocide in the modern era.
Third: This dimension, which was revealed above, was confirmed in a way that is no less important than Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa, but rather surpasses it, and it deserves to be an extension of it. This was when the resistance, its leadership, and the people were able to win a ground war that prevented the enemy army and its international supporters, for a whole year, from storming the tunnels of Gaza, or harming the resistance inside and around it.
The leadership of Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa has proven that its preparations to confront the expected war of aggression aimed at eliminating the resistance and subjugating Gaza were at the highest level.
Zero-sum battles and clashes took place between the resistance and the Zionist army, with military, political and international support from America and Western countries. The military result throughout the twelve months was a shameful military defeat for the fourth largest army in the world, which had always considered itself invincible and thought it was the strongest army in the entire region.
All the details presented here about the ground war prove that the resistance and its leaders had prepared a well-thought-out defense, including securing the water, food, weapons, patience, faith, and fighting prowess that those besieged in the tunnels needed, which was unprecedented. This indicates a keen foresight and indicates advance preparation for a battle that lasted a whole year, and its ropes are still being pulled for months to come.
Fourth: When the Zionist army and the leaders of the entity found that they were unable to achieve military victory in the ground war, they began to fight another war at the same time, a war that aims to exterminate civilians and destroy Gaza, not only in revenge for the defeat of the Al-Aqsa Flood, but also to save face from kneeling in a military defeat that was achieved on the ground. The goal of continuing the war has become a goal in itself, because it prevents the resistance from declaring victory once a ceasefire is announced.
This imposed at the same time on all Western countries, especially America, to make it a global war against Gaza, with all its civilizational, religious and moral dimensions. This is what Netanyahu confirmed in his speech in Congress, when he considered his war a defense of Western civilization against "barbarism." It turned into an American failure when it was met with applause from Congress. It revealed all that Western civilization included in terms of white racism against the peoples of the world, racism and racial superiority. This is when the perpetrators of genocide and mass killing of children and civilians in Gaza are considered representatives of Western civilization (the white race) against the "barbarians" (the peoples of the world).
Fifth: Moving to a war of extermination (the mass killing of civilians who cannot prevent the extermination or escape with their lives) is not permissible, and no Palestinian, Arab, Muslim, or human being in this world has the right to consider that Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa is the cause of the war of extermination. Because the war of extermination is, first, beyond any expectation in a conflict, and second, there is no justification for it of any kind. It is a crime in and of itself, as international law and human custom consider it, and no one is held accountable for it except its perpetrator, and those who support or cover him up.
This position on the war of extermination is the correct and moral position, and without it, extermination (mass killing) is legislated to be a global law in conflicts and wars. That is, returning humanity not to the jungle and its law, but to a jungle of monsters that human history has never known.
In conclusion, Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa and the victory of the resistance led by Yahya Sinwar, and the steadfastness, faith, patience and sacrifices of the people in Gaza, constituted a historic epic of resistance on the road to liberating Palestine from the river to the sea.
It formed around it an axis of Arab, Iranian and Islamic resistance participating in the fighting and sacrifice. It moved the human conscience to build a new world characterized by justice and equality among peoples. It exposed the falsity of the existence of the Zionist entity, the scandal of the crime of racism, and the policies of Western countries as they remained silent about the crimes of genocide for a whole year against civilians and children in Gaza.
