The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that the missile attack launched by Iran on the Israeli occupation state, on Tuesday evening, came in response to the assassination of the former head of the political bureau of the Hamas movement, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran in late July, and the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, in the southern suburbs of Beirut last Friday.

The attack came - according to a statement by the Revolutionary Guards - "in implementation of its legitimate right to defend itself, and to intensify the crimes of the entity in Gaza and the aggression against Lebanon." Agence France-Presse quoted the Iranian Revolutionary Guards as saying that the missile attack targeted "three military bases" around Tel Aviv.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard added that the attacks targeted "strategic sites" inside the occupied territories, including air bases, radar bases, and "centers of conspiracy and planning for assassinations against resistance leaders," specifically mentioning Ismail Haniyeh, Hassan Nasrallah, "military leaders in Hezbollah and the Palestinian resistance, and leaders of the Revolutionary Guard."

In turn, sources told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that some Iranian missiles targeted Israeli artillery positions in the “Gaza Envelope” settlements. The sources also indicated that Iranian missiles targeted an important military site of the occupation army in the occupied city of Ashkelon.

The sources added that the missile attack targeted the Israeli marine gas station off the coast of the Gaza Strip, and also targeted the "Netzarim" axis that separates the north of the Gaza Strip from its south. It also targeted an important military site of the occupation army in the occupied city of Ashkelon.

Palestinian media reported that five Iranian missiles struck Israeli occupation forces stationed in the Salah al-Din and Jhar al-Dik axis in the central Gaza Strip.

The occupation army radio reported that sirens sounded in 1,864 locations in Israel, including several cities across historical Palestine, most notably Tel Aviv and occupied Jerusalem, as well as Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

The spokesman for the occupation army, Daniel Hagari, announced that the Iranian missiles directly hit areas in central and southern Israel, adding that the Israeli army will respond to the Iranian attacks.

The occupation army spokesman claimed that a significant number of Iranian missiles were intercepted and there were specific injuries. Hagari threatened that "this attack will have repercussions and we have offensive plans and the response this time will be different."

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards stressed that "if the Zionist entity responds to this operation, it will face strong and devastating attacks." The Iranian mission to the United Nations said that "if the Zionist entity responds and commits another evil act, our next response will be devastating," adding that "the countries of the region and the supporters of the Zionists must separate themselves from the Zionist entity."
