At dawn on Thursday, American forces announced the interception and destruction of missiles launched by the Houthis. Hours after the group's announcement, the Count Ship and two American destroyers were targeted in the Red Sea.
According to the US Central Command’s report - published on the X platform - “During the past 24 hours, our forces succeeded in destroying two drones, a ground control station, and three Houthi anti-ship cruise missiles.”
It stated, "These weapons posed a clear and imminent threat to American forces, coalition forces, and commercial ships in the region," and said, "This reckless and dangerous behavior by the Iran-backed Houthis continues to threaten regional stability and security."

On Wednesday evening, the Houthi group announced the implementation of three operations against a ship and two American destroyers as they were crossing the Houthi area of operations towards the Red Sea.
Military spokesman Yahya Saree said that their forces carried out a joint military operation targeting the ship ( Conship Ono ) in the Red Sea with a number of ballistic missiles and drones.
He added that the Air Force carried out a qualitative military operation targeting the American destroyer "Cole" in the Gulf of Aden with a number of drones, and that their naval forces carried out a qualitative military operation targeting the American destroyer "La Bon" with a number of ballistic missiles. He stated that "all operations had accurate hits." .
Since November 2023, the Houthi group began targeting Israeli or associated cargo ships in the Red Sea with missiles and drones, and at the beginning of this year, Washington and London began launching air strikes and missile attacks on Houthi sites in Yemen.
