Interior Minister Major General Ibrahim Haydan called on the international community to support Yemen in its war against terrorism, stressing that Yemen stands on the front lines of confronting it.
This came in Yemen's speech, which he delivered today, Monday, during the opening of the high-level conference on "Enhancing international cooperation in combating terrorism and building flexible mechanisms for border security - the Kuwait phase of the Dushanbe process," according to the Saba Agency.
Haidan said that Yemen stands on the front lines of confronting terrorism, which represents a serious global challenge that threatens international peace and security, and it confronts the dangers of this phenomenon on a daily basis in light of the Houthi militia’s collaboration with terrorist organizations, especially Al-Qaeda.
Minister Haidan stressed the great importance of enhancing regional and international cooperation in confronting the growing phenomenon of terrorism, and the need to unify efforts to limit the spread of extremism and secure borders, with a focus on cutting off the path to smuggling operations, which are considered a major source of financing terrorist groups with weapons and money.
In this regard, he pointed out the difficult humanitarian conditions suffered by the Yemeni people due to the coup of the terrorist Houthi militias, which destroyed the country's infrastructure.
He added that the security situation in Yemen requires continuous international support through the provision of logistical support, information exchange, and financial assistance, with the aim of enhancing the Yemeni government's capabilities in combating terrorism and securing the borders.
In this regard, he called on the international community to make more comprehensive and integrated efforts to support Yemen in its war against terrorism, and to contribute to restoring stability to the region in a way that ensures border security and blocks the path to growing terrorist threats.
