Australia to take command of Red Sea Joint Task Force from October

Australia will take command of a combined maritime task force in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden from October, the Australian Defence Ministry said on Friday.
Combined Maritime Forces Combined Task Force 153 was established in April 2022 to focus on maritime security in the region.
It was reinforced in December to deal with Houthi attacks in the Red Sea.
