11 people killed and injured in initial toll as a result of a gas tank explosion in Aden

Media sources reported that at least 11 people were killed or injured on Friday evening, after a gas tanker exploded at a station north of the interim capital, Aden, in the south of the country.

According to sources, the fire spread to neighboring houses, as the fire broke out at the station, before spreading to the tanker that exploded, leaving a number of dead and injured.

Activists on social media accused the Civil Defense of being late in arriving at the scene to put out the fire, as it arrived and the fire had been extinguished by citizens in the area.

This comes at a time when the Health Office announced that six human injuries were recorded as a preliminary toll, as a result of the explosion, noting that the emergency center had moved ambulances and transported the injured as a result of the incident.

The Health Office confirmed that other details and statistics will be officially announced after the monitoring process is completed at a later time.

Other official authorities did not provide any clarification about the incident until the time of writing this news.
