The UK Maritime Trade Operations ( UKMTO ) said it received a report from a vessel that it had been subjected to two separate attacks west of Mokha and southeast of Aden, off the coast of Yemen, respectively.

The authority stated in a memo published on its account on the X platform, and monitored by "Yemeni Youth Net", a short while ago, that it received a report from a ship captain, that a missile fell near his ship, 60 nautical miles southeast of Aden.

He added that the ship and its crew are safe and are heading to the next port of call.

The Authority announced yesterday evening that the same ship was sailing 25 nautical miles west of Al-Mokha in Yemen and reported that a missile had fallen near it, without causing any damage to the ship or its crew.

The authority advised ships to pass with caution and report any suspicious activity.

Since last November, the Iran-backed Houthi militia has been launching drone and missile attacks on cargo ships sailing in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab and the Gulf of Aden off the coast of Yemen, claiming that this is in support of Gaza, which has been subjected to a devastating Israeli war since October 7. These attacks have negatively affected shipping, trade and global supply chains.

As a result, the United States formed a military coalition led by it, and since the beginning of this year, it has been carrying out strikes alongside Britain that it says target the Houthis’ military capabilities, in response to their attacks on cargo ships. The Houthis responded with attacks on American and British naval ships, considering them “military targets.”
