Sanctions were imposed on the companies that operate these ships, such as India-based Salina Ship Management Pvt Ltd and Lebanon-based Pearl Shipping & Trading Ltd , for their alleged support of Al-Qatirji’s oil trade.
Hussam bin Ahmed Rushdi Al-Qatirji took over the leadership of the company after the recent death of Mohammed Al-Qatirji.
The Treasury Department alleges that Qatirji Company officials, including Hussam Qatirji, have met with Qods Force officials and their financial supporters, and those officials were sanctioned under the same counterterrorism authority.
The Treasury Department affirmed that it is committed to disrupting the financial networks that support the regional activities of Iran and its allies, stressing that these sanctions are part of broader efforts to counter Iranian influence in the Middle East.
