Holiday of Holidays

Opinions| 25 September, 2024 - 3:35 PM

It is our greatest holiday, and our glorious memory. Joy in it is the honor of the free, and the pride of the revolutionaries. Celebration is an act of resistance. We light the flame in the heart, a revolution that knows no extinguishing. September 26 is the event and the talk, the sermon and the final word.

Nothing is forbidden except speaking out of context, every voice that “talks about what it does not know,” every statement that defeats us and gives victory to the enemy, and every uproar that disrupts our joy during the holidays and diverts attention to trivialities rather than to what is essential in this bitter conflict.

Nothing is forbidden except for the blatant stupidity, the generalized idiocy, and the sophistry that is far removed from the requirements of the battle and the reasons for confrontation.

We do not need anyone to teach us the etiquette of celebrating the anniversary of our valiant revolution. We learned the alphabet of revolution since birth. We were taught by the martyrs. We were born and grew up under the flagpole, with high heads and tall stature. We lived every day a revolution, a chant, and an anthem:

Repeat my song, oh world

Repeat it, repeat it, repeat it

And I remember in my joy every martyr

And give him a garment of Eid light

Who is stealing our Eid now while we are fighting to regain our happiness?

Who woke up after 62 years to confiscate the holiday, undermine the anthem, belittle the flag, vomit on the torch, and see it as fire worship and a Persian ritual, nothing more?

The preacher and orator make mistakes when he lacks political awareness, social intelligence and general culture, as you find him standing on the surface in his treatment of issues in general. He cannot penetrate to what is important, and he rushes to issue his own judgments without insight or awareness.

Lighting the torch is a symbolic ritual that refers to a clear revolutionary meaning that does not need explanation or clarification. We do not sanctify fire, but rather glorify the blazing spirit of revolution. We ignite it in souls and minds, awakening conscience and sense. The torch is a symbol that encapsulates many significant, inciting and inspiring meanings. “Emotions” in Hajj are the plural of “Mash’ar” which means sign. We perform it to immortalize, glorify, honor and celebrate the greatness of the role of man, his struggles and sacrifices in his path towards God.

They are the determinants of the path, guiding signs, and pivot points. They are the foundation upon which the building was founded. They are the legacies of the prophethood that inspired, and continue to inspire, humanity with the truth of servitude to God, and the meaning of Islam of face and direction to Him alone.

Magnifying these rituals requires a spiritual, aware presence that internalizes the deep meanings, going beyond sensory contact and superficial touching with the intention of blessing.

Hajj without the presence of the spirit, the penetration of vision, and the entry into the interconnected worlds of rituals and rites, and without the spiritual and emotional integration when performing them, becomes just a running of bodies, just a muscular effort that falls short of achieving many of the objectives of Hajj. Perhaps the vision of the ignorant and blind of insight becomes blurred to the point that he sees them as just confusing pagan performances.

Revolutions continue to live in the form of symbols embodying freedom, dignity, sacrifice, redemption, heroism, victory, collective pride, and all the great virtues and values.

"Beings fall, but meanings remain," says Ahmed Daif Allah Al-Awadhi. We celebrate the remaining meaning of the September 26 Revolution.

We declare our pledge to continue the struggle, to remain ignited in the face of this dark apostasy armed with superstition and weapons.

We sing for freedom, we cheer for Greater Yemen, we salute the souls who sacrificed their lives on the path to salvation.

While our captive cities come out with the pride of a proud homeland to celebrate the anniversary of the revolution, threatening the Houthis, arousing his fear and anxiety, driving him crazy and carrying out frenzied arrest campaigns.

It is foolish to help him foolishly stifle that spirit. And to give him what supports him in preventing manifestations of celebration and justifying his suppression and belittling of the revolution and the revolutionaries.

It is the revolution since it was a word, a testimony, a poem, a song, fire and light, “and blood whose virtues walk in the heights,” according to Abu Habib Amer Al-Saeedi.

Today, the torch is lit in Marib, a continuous festival celebrating its victorious revolution. Yesterday, it was a magnificent military parade in which it appeared with complete elegance, fitness, poise and fullness. Major General Sultan Al-Arada called on everyone early to take the initiative to celebrate. He looks forward to "the dawn of a new republic rising from the heights of Balq."
