The Southern National Coalition warned of the state of laxity and cracks in the components of legitimacy, denouncing at the same time the continuation of the phenomenon of military formations outside state institutions.

This came in a statement following a regular meeting of the Council’s Presidency, which discussed a number of issues, according to what was published by the coalition’s media on its Facebook page.

On the political side, the coalition confirmed in its statement its position in support of the peace process, the UN roadmap, and the Saudi-Omani efforts, warning at the same time of the state of laxity witnessed by the legitimacy ranks, and the state of rift that it said had "deepened due to the absence of real partnership."

The coalition denounced the continued phenomenon of military formations outside state institutions, and called on the Presidential Leadership Council and the Arab coalition supporting legitimacy to review these failed policies, the first of which is to restore partnership with the effective national forces, especially the southern forces that have been marginalized since April 2022.

The statement expressed its regret over the state of political and administrative chaos that the current legitimate authority has reached, which was recently evident in the decisions of the Central Bank that were overturned without a national vision and decision, in addition to the greater scandal represented by the shameful exposure of criminal gangs hiding under the name of security and combating terrorism in Aden, and the Presidential Leadership Council did not take any responsible measures towards them, which weakens the legal position of the state and increases the fragility of legitimacy.

The meeting discussed developments in Hadhramaut Governorate, stressing the coalition's support for the rights and service demands of the people of the governorate based on the principle of fair partnership in wealth and power, and called for preserving societal peace and stability in the governorate and for popular demands to remain within a peaceful framework.
