On Tuesday, the Yemeni Journalists Syndicate expressed its deep concern over the health condition of journalist Abdo Masoud Al-Madan, who is being held by the Houthi group, calling for the immediate release of all kidnapped journalists.

The union said in a statement, "The convicted journalist was transferred from prison to intensive care in a Sana'a hospital after he and a number of journalists were arrested on the basis of their journalistic writings."

The Yemeni Journalists Syndicate also expressed its condemnation of the poor detention conditions of journalists Abdo Masoud Al-Madan, Mohammed Dabwan Al-Mayahy, Fouad Al-Nahari, and Mohammed Al-Sahbani, who have been detained since late September.

The statement held the de facto authority in Sana'a responsible for the ill-treatment and poor detention conditions to which the colleagues are subjected, and the resulting risks to the health and safety of the colleagues, calling for providing health care to the colleagues.

The Syndicate renewed its demand for the immediate release of all journalists detained by the Houthi group and all prisoners of conscience who have been arrested since the beginning of last September for expressing their opinions and positions, which the Houthi group has become fed up with and has responded to with intimidation, deprivation of freedom, and violent treatment.

The Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militias launched a wide-scale kidnapping campaign that targeted dozens of activists, citizens and journalists because of their writing or celebration of the anniversary of the September 26 Revolution that overthrew the priestly Imamate rule in 1962.
