Hadhramaut tribal alliance meeting

The Hadhramaut Tribal Alliance gave the Presidential Command Council and the government two days to implement its demands, warning against taking any step in exporting oil without establishing Hadhramaut’s status and guaranteeing its rights.

In a statement following its meeting on Wednesday, the Hadhramaut Tribes Alliance called on the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, to recognize the right of Hadhramaut and to activate the role of effective and real partnership, represented by the Hadhramaut Inclusive Conference, similar to the other parties participating in the comprehensive settlement in the country.

The tribes' statement, which was viewed by Yemen Shabab.net, warned "against undertaking any action with Hadhramaut oil, exporting it, or marketing it unless the status of Hadhramaut is established and its rights are guaranteed to the satisfaction of its people."

It stressed the necessity of implementing the decisions taken by the Hadhramaut Inclusive Conference and the chronicles issued on July 13, 2024 AD (which are demands related to living conditions and the management of public affairs).

The tribes considered the current oil reserve in the tanks of Dabbah and Masila ports to be a right of Hadhramaut, and we will not give it up, provided that its full value is used to purchase electrical energy for Hadhramaut.

The tribes said in their statement that if they do not respond to what was mentioned within a period of 48 hours, they will seize the land and wealth (in reference to controlling the oil fields and ports in the governorate).

It also called on society and all national forces to stand by the position of the Hadhramaut Tribes Alliance and support it.

This comes in light of talk of an imminent agreement to re-export oil in Hadhramaut Governorate, after a halt of nearly two years as a result of the attacks by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia.
